Myall Creek Massacre

The Myall Creek massacre is still; to this day, regarded as one of the to the highest degree heinous inhumane criminal acts to take place on this land. The massacre was the single act of inhumanity that united the settlers and the primal people under British protection whilst highlighting the pauperisation for a unified justice system. Thirty black custody, women and children; maliciously massacred by a group of white-hot prisoners with no innervation at all. The severity of these crimes were so heinous, when trialled, the law of God was called upon to privates over swift justice to all those involved. Those who were involved in the criminal prosecution of the prisoners (especially Sir William Westbrooke Burton) soon completed that; there were conjure up issues that needed to be addressed in light of the atrocities flat being judged, and that it was time to deal with the new realities of conflict flat evident amongst the settlers and Aboriginals. According to Nett elbeck and protect (2010), conflict was inevitable amongst the white settlers and the Aboriginals due to an increase in targeted attacks. Aboriginals were targeting the white settlers livestock and land whilst the white settlers were targeting groups of indigenous men and women in retaliation. The reality of the conflict between the settlers world and the indigenous population was never truly realised until the have actions of both parties culminated in the slaughtering of thirty indigenous men, women and children. The end of such actions not only caused the British government to re-evaluate its policies when dealings with crimes against Aboriginals, merely to also re-define the British justice system as a protector to all those under it. Again; fit in to Nettelbeck and Foster (2010), when Lieutenant Governor Stirling announced Western Australia as a colony of the British, he also made it extravagantly go through that behaving in a fraudulent, cruel or felonious air towards Aboriginal people would be credible! to be prosecuted for the offence...If you urgency to get a full essay, influence it on our website: OrderCustomPaper.com
